The Hayden Story
Allow us to introduce ourselves - we are Luke and Jodie Mellington, the proud new owners of Hayden Surfcraft. We are thrilled to be a part of the Sunshine Coast's vibrant surf lifesaving community and are eager to share our passion for creating top-quality surfcraft with all of you.

Originally from Geelong, Luke has made his home on the beautiful Sunshine Coast for the past three decades. His love for the ocean and surf lifesaving is evident, as he has been an active participant in the lifesaving community, patrolling since 2003.
Luke's background as a skilled spray painter led him to own a successful family-run smash repair business for 25 years. During this time, he also dedicated himself to repairing surfcraft for various clubs along the coast, further nurturing his bond with the surf lifesaving community.

Jodie, on the other hand, is a true Sunshine Coast native, born and bred in this coastal paradise. She shares Luke's passion for the ocean and has been an unwavering supporter of surf lifesaving since she can remember. Together, we have been blessed with two wonderful boys, Brock and James, both of whom have been involved in nippers. James is still actively competing, showcasing the next generation of surf lifesaving talent.

When the opportunity arose to take over Hayden Surfcraft from Mick Hopper and Graham Cook, we saw it as a chance to combine our love for surf lifesaving and Luke's expertise in crafting high-quality products. Mick and Graham’s legacy in the business, which spans back to the 1960s, is a testament to the exceptional surfcraft they have built over the years. We aim to carry on their tradition and take Hayden Surfcraft to new heights.

At Hayden Surfcraft, our mission is simple yet profound - to craft the highest quality skis and boards using the finest glass fibres and resins available. Our dedication to excellence is driven by our passion for the sport and our commitment to providing outstanding service to our valued customers. As part of our commitment to safety and excellence, we are proud to announce that we have an SLSA approved Surf Sport Equipment Agreement in place. This ensures that all our surfcraft are manufactured to meet the highest SLSA standards, offering you peace of mind when you ride on a Hayden Surfcraft.
